Introduction to Haptic Signals

Haptic Signals are tactile signals that are used for visual description for deaf-blind people. The signals are given on the back, shoulder or upper arm and can, for example, be used for description of facial expressions, to help orientation in traffic or to get an overview of the interior of a room. The back can also be used to write capital letters or numbers.

On this page you can look up haptic signals by alphabet or category. All the signals are described with a short text and a video clip that makes it easy to learn the signal.
